ALERTS -- IMMEDIATE ACTION ITEMS

=======================================

U.S. Congressional - Washington, DC

=======================================

The following information is disturbing and critical.  According to the report, " the Left's strategy of flooding Congress with "Pro ObamaCare" phone calls is working"     Polls have repeatedly shown the majority of Americans oppose the current healthcare bill.  So I urge everyone opposed to this bill to let your voice be heard.  Contact your legislators and the waving Blue Dog Democrats IMMEDIATELY!  A list of contact information for the Blue Dogs can be found HERE

From the Desk of:
Steve Elliott, Grassfire Nation

The "public option" is a real threat and liberal activists
are flooding Capitol Hill. See below.  --Steve

Dear Resistors:

I just received word from a trusted contact on Capitol
Hill that the Left's strategy of flooding Congress with
"Pro ObamaCare" phone calls is working.

"We just left [a member of Congress'] office and while we
were waiting, their phones were going crazy demanding"
support for health care and to sign on to the Bennet
letter committing to voting for reconciliation. The Bennet
effort is to give Pelosi air cover for the House vote....
Get everyone you can to call or fax or email."

The "Bennet letter" refers to a letter from Sen. Michael
Bennet of Colorado which urges Majority Leader Reid to
use BUDGET RECONCILIATION to pass ObamaCare WITH THE
PUBLIC OPTION.

In other words, the Bennet letter is designed to send
a message to House Democrats that the House version of
the bill with the public option will be included in
the final (real) ObamaCare bill using reconciliation.

And reports indicate the Bennet Letter already has 33 signers!

+ + Odds of ObamaCare passing are rising

This contact also relayed the following on the prospects
of ObamaCare passing...

"The person who has been our main contact said...last week
she would have thought 20% [likelihood of ObamaCare passing]
now thinks 50%.... They also have polling data that each
piece of health care reform when polled line by line has
support and that Americans will love it after they do it.
My sense is that we really need the TEA party to bombard
the House members or this is going to happen."

+ + Two Key Actions

#1 -- Send faxes right now

Even if you've done so already...

You can use our FaxFire system to send this message right
now to your two Senators, your Rep AND the President -- and
MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD! Go here to schedule your faxes:

 http://www.grassfire.com/3122/offer.asp?ref_id=500062

(As always, we provide all the information for you to send
your own faxes if you prefer. Just click the above link.)

#2 -- Call your Senators and Representative

Again, it appears the President's grassroots strategy is
working. If you want your voice to be heard, please call...

http://www.congressmerge.com/onlinedb/index.htm

Rep. Call the Congressional Switchboard (202) 224-3121

Be sure to tell your Senators what you think about the "Bennet
Letter" calling for reconciliation and the public option.

If you have already sent faxes, thank you! And thanks for
going the extra mile right now with more faxes and phone
calls. Thank you for all you do as part of the Grassfire Nation
and ResistNet.

URGENT!!  A CALL TO ACTION!!

If there were ever a time to call, fax and email your legislators, the time is NOW!  We are at a precipice that, as Obama would say, “will fundamentally change America”.  We MUST stop obamacare, unless you want government run healthcare, rationing of healthcare, mandates, penalties, more debt foisted on you, your children, grandchildren and future generations, and more.   You will be forced to pay for abortions through your tax dollars. The government will have access to private medical records.  They will know intimate details about your health and anything else you may share with your doctor or other caregivers.  And they will regulate what type of care you will receive---not your doctor.   Your freedom to choose and decide what type of healthcare you desire will be stripped away.

According to dickmorris.com, if this bill passes it will also provide:

•  A $500 billion cut in Medicare
•  30 million new patients with no new doctors
•  Health care rationing
•  Protocols of care to deny costly treatments based on how many "Quality Adjusted Life   Years" remain
•  Require the uninsured to pay $8500 to buy policies
•  Fine them 2.5% of their income if they don't
•  And send them to jail if they don't pay
•  Tax medical devices like pacemakers and automated wheelchairs
•  Force up premiums for all Americans by $2,000 a year
•  Add $500 billion to the federal deficit (by 2024)
•  Raise income taxes 2.5%
•  Raise capital gains taxes 2.5%
•  Cut reimbursement to doctors who order too many tests for patients

State - Wisconsin

=======================================

Subject: *ALERT* - Electronic Medical Records for WI

We just learned hours ago that there will be a public hearing on SB579 which would implement an electronic medical records system in the state of Wisconsin.  As of right now, the bill is not even electronically available for the public to review!

You may have heard about the BILLIONS in federal dollars that were set aside last Feb in the “stimulus” bill that was passed last February.  This will be the beginning of rationing healthcare in this state.

To learn more please read the following articles:

http://www.eagleforum.org/column/2009/feb09/09-02-20.html

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=newsarchive&sid=aLzfDxfbwhzs

http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/medical-records-fears/2009/02/13/id/328269

This is the description from the author of the bill:

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act) includes $34 billion in incentive payments for private health care providers to purchase and implement electronic medical record systems.  We estimate that health care providers in Wisconsin will be eligible for between $500 and $800 million in incentive payments for establishing electronic medical record systems.  In order to capitalize on the funding available Wisconsin must first have a statewide health information exchange infrastructure that allows health care providers to share electronic patient data with each other, while protecting patient confidentiality, privacy, and security of the information.

This legislation will create a private-public structure to implement and oversee the state-level health information exchange as a means of driving improved healthcare quality and efficiency.  This organization will work in concert with existing health care providers but will not impose mandates or overrule their existing processes.  The health information exchange refers to the process of electronic sharing of health-related information conducted in a manner that protects the confidentiality, privacy, and security of the information. An HIE can improve health care coordination through the use of electronic health records (EHRs), provide key information to individuals to promote their health and wellness, and support research, public health, emergency response, and quality improvement. The federal funding that will come with the creation of the statewide HIE will benefit not only private sector health care providers in our state but Wisconsin based information technology vendors who serve hospitals and clinics across the nation.

Senate Bill 579 - Relating to: designation of a corporation to receive funding for electronic health information exchange, creation of a corporation, and making an appropriation.
